Terri P. Guess is a writer, communications professional, and owner of TerriPGuess LLC, where she manages The Spirit of Essex magazine for Essex County, New Jersey. She develops editorial content, solicits advertising, and amplifies the arts and history communities across the region.

A graduate of Morgan State University with additional credentials from NJIT and Rutgers University, Terri’s writing has appeared in The Star-Ledger, The Amsterdam News, Black Enterprise, Black Elegance, and The Network Journal. She co-authored the book Yes God!, sharing her powerful MS journey in the chapter A Minor Setback.

Terri is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves on the Essex County Accessibility Advisory Group, advocating for individuals with disabilities and improving accessibility across parks and community facilities. Through her work, she has expanded The Spirit of Essex to better serve the visually impaired by enhancing caption descriptions and requiring accessibility indicators for all entries.
