Nakiesha Blue is the Founder of The You Are Not Alone (YANA) Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families impacted by suicide loss and mental health challenges. With over thirty years of experience in customer service, Nakiesha exemplifies loyalty, compassion, and strength in both her professional and personal life.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and has used her education, faith, and lived experiences to build bridges of healing and hope within her community.

Under her leadership, The YANA Foundation hosted Newark’s first-ever Suicide Awareness Walk, a historic event that brought families, city leaders, and advocates together in unity and healing. The walk received media coverage from NBC News and earned formal recognition including a proclamation from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Mayor Ras J. Baraka, and a resolution from the Newark Municipal Council for Nakiesha’s outstanding contributions to mental health awareness and community service.

A gifted creative and storyteller, Nakiesha is also the writer and producer behind Blue Productions, under which she created the hit stage play Out of the Blue (2018 & 2020). The dramedy explores themes of love, loss, and resilience — mirroring Nakiesha’s own journey of turning pain into purpose.

Nakiesha has been married to her husband, Alton Blue, Sr., for over twenty years. Together they share four sons — Alton Blue Jr., March Hamblin, Loren Q Porter, and Tyler Blue — and two beloved grandchildren who lovingly call her “MiMi.”

Her life is a living reflection of Proverbs 31:20 and 25 — clothed in strength, extending her hands in compassion, and reminding the world that no one is ever truly alone.
